Microsoft SQL Server
We’ve always used Microsoft’s tried and trusted products to support our business. From the early days of linked Access databases and Excel spreadsheets, we evolved to their SQL server technologies which offer fast performance and can handle the big datasets that 20:20 RDI operates.
It is important that we can offer a scalable solution, and SQL server allows us to create dedicated applications for each client, sitting on their own server and with emergency backup running in real time.
What we like about SQL Server is its ability to deliver breakthrough performance for our business-critical applications. It enables us to provide insights rapidly from any data to any client user over dedicated reporting extranet portals or in more familiar tools like Excel. SQL server works for us because it is a resilient platform for building, deploying, and managing solutions that span our on premise hardware and our wider cloud deployments.
Using the latest version of SQL Server 2014, it has enabled us to build new functionality and applications using a genuinely ‘Big Data’ solution with high-performance, in-memory technology across data warehousing, business intelligence and analytics workloads.
Keyzo has become an important partner for 20:20 RDI. It’s no secret that the world of Big Data is changing rapidly and 20:20 RDI needs to outpace this rate of change to keep ahead. Our key skill sets are in the area of data analytics. We realized that we needed a strategic partner to help us develop highly visual online reporting for our clients – both in the dashboards that are accessed by key senior managers and also the field based apps used by our clients’ sales teams in-store.
We chose Keyzo because they share a similar philosophy to us. The business is young, vibrant, highly creative and extremely flexible. They are based close to our technical centre in Lincoln and can provide fast response site support and account management when we need it.
Above all we value their output. They have produced tools and reports that are individual and striking, helping our work stand out from that of our competitors.
20:20 RDI is proud to be associated with the University of Lincoln’s award-winning business support centre, Sparkhouse situated in the middle of this fast growing campus.
Sparkhouse aims to incubate creative, innovative and technology based businesses in the UK and it has supported over 230 new businesses and helped create more than 370 new jobs.
We chose to invest at this site not only because it offers state of the art facilities but also because it allows us access to the region’s most promising students, knowledge and expertise within the university, and helping us to find the resources to grow.
Meridian ISE is where the 20:20 RDI story started. It was established in 1993 to provide strategic sales consultancy to many of the world’s major organisations. It focuses on improving the ROI on all customer facing investments, from trading terms to the cost of the sales organisation itself. It identifies the levers of sales success, concentrating on proving a cause-effect’ relationship to provide a sound action plan.
With a senior management team that is deeply experienced in FMCG, is was no surprise that over the years Meridian found itself conducting an ever increasing number of projects under the heading of ‘customer contact strategy.’ Of course this meant deep analysis of the ROI impacts of different customer facing investments. The richness of customer data available from brand owners facilitated a whole new level of complexity and accuracy in our recommendations in this sector.
So when the businesses split to allow 20:20 RDI to focus on data driven insight in the CPG world, that was the moment that Meridian ISE chose to focus its attention on the other industries where it had developed deep experience.
Channeling resources in this way has resulted in many more projects in areas which had already become favourites in Meridian – notably the packaging industry, the education sector, pharmaceutical industry and wider B2B area.
Meridian also has a real strength in helping its clients from all industries to grow their channel business, especially via distributors and wholesalers away from traditional home markets.
Meridian ISE and 20:20 RDI cooperate across projects where appropriate and both managers and consultants often work in harmony to utilise relevant expertise to the benefit of our clients.
Data security is a vital component of the 20:20 RDI offer. We have teamed up with Hosting UK because they offer state of the art hardware, cutting edge security protocols and multi-location back up.
Their equipment is located across two cities, London and Manchester. Within these regional locations they operate a number of datac entres. In addition, they also operate a disaster recovery site at their head office in St. Asaph, Wales.
All of these locations are totally independent and the facilities within each are operated independently by leaders in carrier neutral, high availability data centre facilities in the UK.
Engineers are based on-site to ensure the fastest response should any physical intervention be required at any time. Access to their servers is tightly controlled by both electronic and biometric means, through a system of airlocks and secured areas. Entry to the data centre requires both of these means, as well as a final visual check before any person can gain final entry to the equipment. Once in the data centre activity is recorded around the clock.
